Don't do-it-yourself
Local handyman and qualified electrician - for homes, tenants & small businesses.
trusted, professional, and properly done.
After decades in senior engineering roles for major organisations like the BBC, EDF Energy and the Government Communications Bureau, Charles Neale decided it was time for a change. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he stepped away from the corporate world and launched The Fixer - a local handyman and electrical service dedicated to helping homeowners, tenants and small businesses get the jobs done that really matter. With industrial-level experience and a strong focus on quality, safety and practical solutions, The Fixer is trusted by people who want it done once and done properly.

PRICING
Our standard rate is £40 per hour, with a minimum charge of half a day (£160).
We’ll always provide an estimated time before the job starts – if it’s expected to take less than half a day, The Fixer’s happy to use the remaining time to tackle a few extra small jobs while he’s there.
If it runs over, we simply add the extra time by the hour. We aim to be fair and transparent at every stage – but let’s be honest, the odd surprise can happen mid-job.
We’ll keep you informed if anything changes.
EMERGENCY?
Got an emergency like a leaking ceiling, no hot water, or sudden electrical faults? We may be able to help, depending on availability. Emergency call-outs start at £160.
